High school teacher resigns after he’s investigated for using work credit card at a STRIP CLUB

Bridgeport High School coach resigns while he is being investigated for spending over $5000 on the school‘s credit card at a Houston strip club this summer.

JD Bales, who joined the school as its soccer coach in 2018, resigned from his position after being accused of spending $5,455.81 on a Bridgeport ISD credit card at The Men’s Club of Houston while attending a coaching clinic in July.

As per Bridgeport Police Chief Steve Stanford, Bales has paid the complete amount back to the district and it is unlikely that the investigation will lead to criminal charges.

Bales resigned from his position as soccer coach and special education teacher on September 8.

The BISD board of trustees accepted his resignation at their meeting on September 11.

The district’s statement, obtained by the Messenger, read: ‘Bales resigned from both his coaching position and his role as a special education teacher at Bridgeport Middle School [September 8] Friday morning.’

Bales led the the school’s soccer program and served as an assistant football coach at Bridgeport for six years.

The district is currently on the lookout for a new soccer coach and will announce the new individual on its website when decided.
