Footage has captured an emotional moment when a teenage girl comes to the hospital in her ballgown to surprise her grandmother who is unwell.
Reagan Judge of Nuneaton has always been close to her grandmother, Amy Judge, and couldn’t bear the thought of not having her picture taken with her at the prom.
The 16-year-old went to the hospital with her mother and other relatives because she did not want her grandmother to see her glamorous.
The nurses said it was the happiest they’d seen Amy, 89 since she was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.
In the video, her face can be seen lighting up as her granddaughter enters the room.
Dressed in an elegant black dress, Reagan goes straight in to hug her grandmother who can’t stop smiling.
Although Amy can’t talk very well, she kept trying to tell Reagan how beautiful she looked.
It’s clear how grateful the 89-year-old is for the surprise appearance, as she keeps saying ‘thank you’.
Amy cried with joy and was so overwhelmed at the sight of her granddaughter that Reagan and her mother became emotional as well.
Reagan said, “I cried with happy tears because I could see how happy it made her to spend time with me.
“My mom cried too and was just so happy to see her happy. There has never been a time when we have been in the hospital and experienced a moment where the room is filled with joy.
“The nurses had never seen anyone come in in their ballgowns. They told my mom and me that this was the happiest thing they’d seen my grandma and that this was the first time she’d smiled in days.”
