This is the moment a dogged spider monkey climbed on to a US tourist, pulled her t-shirt down and clung on despite her hilarious efforts to break free.
The video shows the persistent monkey wrapping its long arms, legs and tail around the woman’s body in Cancun, Mexico.
As the animal clambers up the woman’s legs using its prehensile tail and latches itself on to the tourist’s shirt, panic soon sets in as she tells her friend: ‘I don’t know what to do y’all. I’m scared.’
She then proceeds to kneel down to the floor in an effort to disentangle from the primate who wraps its arms around her neck to cling on.

The tourist, who looks visibly anxious throughout the video, repeats ‘I’m scared again’ as her friend tries to wind her up by joking that the monkey is going to bite her.
The monkey then cheekily pulls the woman’s shirt down, exposing her bra underneath, as she screams and shouts ‘bye bye, go go go’ at it.
The woman then starts to walk away while holding on to the monkey’s hand in an attempt to pry it away from her, but it shows no signs of letting go of her shirt.
‘Somebody take the monkey, I’ve got to go, dude,’ she then shouts as the monkey clings on.
The American tourist then starts spinning round in a bid to get the monkey off her but she still can’t break free, sending her friend into fits of laughter.
She then asks another man: ‘Sir, please can you take the monkey?’ adding: ‘She does not want to let go.’
After about a minute of the monkey grasping onto her, she finally manages to escape before the video, which was filmed in July but has just emerged, cuts off.
Spider monkeys are large New World monkeys that live in tropical rainforests from Mexico down to the north of Bolivia.
They get their name from the way their long limbs and tails resemble spider legs as they dangle and swing from branches.
