Meghan Markle 'Is Coming Back To Instagram' With 'New Profile'

Meghan Markle has seemingly made inroads for a social media return, with the account @meghan rumoured to belong to the Duchess of Sussex.

She hasn’t been on social media since previously sharing a joint royal account with her husband Prince Harry, which the couple later deactivated in 2020 when they stepped back from royal duties.

However, it seems that Meghan is set to ‘re-launch’ herself on the site, as we reported earlier in the month. The mother-of-two has laid claim to the @meghan handle but has yet to share any snaps on it. Instead, there is a simple placeholder image of pink flowers while fans eagerly await her return.

Meghan’s close friend Mandana Dayani had somewhat confirmed rumours surrounding the Duchess of Sussex’s Instagram account by following the new page. Mandana used to work closely with Meghan and even appeared in her and Prince Harry’s Netflix docu-series.

Mandana is now listed as a follower of Meghan’s alleged new account, which has more than 103,000 followers already. Author and activist Malala Yousafzai is also following it.

As fans theorize as to how Meghan will make use of the account, Matt Woods, social media expert and founder and CEO of AFK Creators exclusively told us that Meghan’s account handle is “tilting her towards an iconic one-name brand like Madonna or Beyoncé,” while also providing some insight into the Duchess’ potential posting habits.

All A-list celebs like Meghan Markle understand the power of their social media and will have a designated social media team carefully curating every aspect of their content.

There is no way that any post will go out without first being vetted for social and cultural factors by this team.

In April, the Duchess signed on with a global talent agency, who announced they would “be focusing on building out her business ventures across multiple facets …including brand partnerships,” he hinted before adding: “This team has secured – possibly even at a cost – the unique handle @‌meghan which would not have been easy to acquire, tilting her towards iconic one-name brand recognition like Madonna or Britney.

“However, this is not like any other creator exercise as the one facet that is most interesting about Meghan Markle is her royal connection. And, while there is a clear path for gathering successful brand partnerships for A-listers – there is not a preset narrative for former or current members of the royal family.”

“For the first year at least, we’d suggest the account will be posting lowish numbers of posts and remaining very risk averse – turning down a lot more partnerships than they are offered,” Matt continued.
