Famed director advertises for a GIRLFRIEND on Instagram

Danish movie director Lars Von Trier is well known for his arthouse movies which make viewers question reality – and this week he may have pulled his strangest stunt yet.

Earlier this week, the Dogville director, 67, posted a video to Instagram saying he is now ‘hiring’ a girlfriend and muse and invited ‘applicants’ to email him.

‘I don’t know what I’ve dragged myself into this time. So before I drown myself in smug advertising, let me make a few things clear,’ he begins.

‘I am 67 years old. I have Parkinson’s, OCD and at the moment controlled alcoholism.

‘In short, with any luck I should still have a few decent movies left in me.’

The Denmark native then issued an impassioned plea to his female fans, begging them to consider him as a prospective boyfriend.

‘I am looking for a female girlfriend/muse. And despite all the whining, on a good day, in the right company, I can be quite a charming partner. Thank you for your infinite patience,’ he added.

The Oscar nominee then provided his email address and said interested parties should send him their application.

At the time of writing, his offer doesn’t appear to have attracted much interest as not a single follower has commented on his post.

Lars has previously been married twice, with both marriages ending in divorce.

Back in 2017, Icelandic singer Björk detail the alleged sexual harassment she endured at the hands of Lars Von Trier during the filming of the 2000 movie Dancer in the Dark.

‘After each take the director ran up to me and wrapped his arms around me for a long time in front of all crew or alone and stroked me sometimes for minutes against my wishes,’ the Icelandic singer wrote on her Facebook page.

When she complained about it, she said the director ‘exploded,’ threw a chair and then sent everyone home, ‘like someone who has always been allowed to fondle his actresses.’

‘I didn’t comply or agree on being sexually harassed,’ she added.

However, Von Trier rubbished the claims in a statement.’That was not the case. But that we were definitely not friends, that’s a fact,’ Von Trier told Danish daily Jyllands-Posten in its online edition.
