- Sara Sharif, ten, was found dead in her home in Woking last week
Detectives investigating the murder of a 10-year-old girl in Woking have released pictures of two of the three people they want to talk to – including her father and his partner.
Sara Sharif was found dead in her home in Woking by police officers on Thursday, August 10, following a 999 call.
Surrey Police have revealed the call was made by her father, Urfan Sharif, from Pakistan.
An investigation, led by Surrey Police and Sussex Police’s Major Crime Team, was launched to establish the circumstances of Sara’s death and this remains ongoing.
Officers say they have identified three people they would like to speak to as part of the ongoing investigation into Sara’s death – her father, his partner Beinash Batool, 29, and Urfan’s brother, Faisal Malik, 28.
Detective Superintendent Mark Chapman, from the Surrey Police and Sussex Police Major Crime Team, said: ‘Firstly, on behalf of Surrey Police, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences following Sara’s tragic death.

‘Our thoughts are with her mother at this difficult time. We also fully appreciate the impact this devastating incident will have had within the local community.
‘While the post-mortem has not provided us with an established cause of death at this time, the fact that we now know that Sara had suffered multiple and extensive injuries over a sustained and extended period has significantly changed the nature of our investigation, and we have widened the timescale of the focus of our enquiry.
‘As a result, we are trying to piece together a picture of Sara’s lifestyle but we cannot do this without the public’s help.’
It is believed Urfan travelled to Islamabad, Pakistan, with his partner and his brother on Wednesday, August 9 – the day before Sara was found dead. There were five children with them aged between a year and 13 years old.
Surrey Police says they are working with international agencies, including Interpol, the National Crime Agency and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office to ‘progress enquiries with the Pakistani authorities’.
Earlier this week Sara’s devastated mum, Olga, spoke of the moment she discovered her 10-year-old daughter had been killed.
The 36-year-old claimed her ex-husband Urfan Sharif, 41, had been given sole custody of Sara by a court but they ‘always stayed close’ and bonded over a love of arts and crafts and trips to the local zoo.
Olga told The Sun: ‘The officer told me she could not say why over the phone, but when I called again they told me to pull over, so we did. Then she told me Sara had been found dead in a house and I just burst into tears. It took us six hours to get back to the UK.’
