Meghan Markle and Prince Harry broke records for Netflix with their explosive docuseries which focused on their lives in America after stepping away from the Royal Family.
The duo could soon be the winners of a big award thanks to their bombshell Netflix documentary.
Their explosive series, titled Harry & Meghan, has been nominated by Hollywood Critics Awards in the Best Streaming Nonfiction category.
Announcing the news on Twitter, the organisation revealed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are up against Prehistoric Planet 2, Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss, Rennervations, The 1619 Project and The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy.
Despite mixed reviews, Harry and Meghan’s documentary broke streaming records as it became the biggest Netflix documentary debut, with a total 81.6 million hours watched on its first four days of release.
The couple released their docuseries last December.
In it, they made a series of explosive claims about their time in the Royal Family.
In the bombshell series, Harry detailed the breakdown of his relationship with his brother Prince William and claimed he left him terrified after he screamed and shouted at him during the Sandringham summit.
Harry also alleged members of Kensington Palace had then ‘lied to protect my brother’.
The Duke of Sussex also took aim at his dad, King Charles and discussed the tense Megxit crisis meeting held with the Queen in January 2020.
Meghan and Harry signed their lucrative deal with Netflix after stepping back from the Royal Family in 2020.
It is unknown exactly how much the deal is worth but it has been reported it could be worth $112million (£88,000).
There had been claims that the streaming giant wanted Harry and Meghan to come up with ‘more great ideas’ if they wanted to take home $50million (£40million) in outstanding fees.
However, Netflix has denied the rumours.
‘The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value. Harry & Meghan launched as Netflix’s most spectacular documentary debut to date,’ a Netflix spokesperson said.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, they added: ‘Our exciting journey with them isn’t ending anytime soon.
‘We’re currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus.’
The Heart of Invictus series is set for an August premiere date.
