A man – reported to be a 27-year-old British boxer – was detained after sparking panic on the busy flight from Zadar, Croatia on Friday night.
The unnamed man, believed to be from the UK is seen shouting at other passengers and cabin crew in the aisle of the aircraft as it prepares to leave Zadar Airport on June 30.
In a series of videos shared on TikTok, the man is seen raising his clenched fist and lunging for the plane’s door as other flyers scream ‘oh my god!’.
One woman cries: ‘What is he doing?!’, before brave passengers are seen pushing back against him and tackling him to the floor.
The traveller, donning black shorts and a white t-shirt, is then seen being escorted off the flight by Croatian police.
Two officers are filmed dragging the individual along the tarmac as he struggles to stand on his own two feet.
A woman who uploaded a video of the incident said many of the passengers were returning home after partying at the Hideout Festival.
One accused the man of being drunk, a claim not yet confirmed by police.
According to local news outlet BNN, police in Zadar arrested the Briton and launched an investigation.
The news site said the man was a professional boxer, but his identity has yet to be confirmed.
A spokesperson for Ryanair told The Sun: ‘This flight from Zadar to London Stansted returned to stand when an individual passenger became disruptive while preparing for take-off.
‘The passenger was removed from the aircraft by local police before this flight continued safely to London Stansted.
‘This is now a matter for local police.
‘We sincerely apologise to affected passengers for any inconvenience caused as a result of this passenger’s disruptive behaviour.’
It comes after British passengers were left fearing for their lives when an ‘extremely drunk’ passenger allegedly tried to open the plane door during a Jet2 flight from Turkey to the UK, forcing the flight to make an emergency landing.
Flight LS124, which was bound for Glasgow and packed with holidaymakers travelling home from the tourist hotspot of Bodrum, made an emergency landing in Bulgaria last night.
After noticing what he was doing, passengers sat near the man are said to have bravely tackled him before the crew were alerted and the plane was grounded.
Police in Sofia then boarded the airliner and arrested him.
Shocking video shows the man stumbling and appearing to resist officers as he is bundled down the aisle of the plane, while furious passengers yell ‘scumbag’ and ‘idiot’ at him.
