Massive bus crash leaves at least 34 dead and 12 injured as wreck catches fire

Thirty-four people are dead following a devastating road accident in Algeria.

Algeria’s Civil Protection unit confirmed that the death toll from the bus crash had left 34 dead with another 12 injured.

A statement from the police said it happened in the village of Atoll in Tamanrasset state.

They added that the crash lead to another bus and a car catching alight and going up in flames, without providing further details.

Incredible images from the scene show a bus completely gutted by flames, lying on the roadside as a twisted, mangled wreck.

The condition of the wounded is currently unknown.
