Katie Price has admitted there was ‘nothing wrong’ with her nose before she underwent recent surgery, but the star feared she had ‘ruined’ her new nose after pulling off the gauze when she nearly choked on it.
Speaking in depth about her latest round of surgery, the model, 45, told how she has previously had her nose shaved, but she recently went to Belgium to have a new nose job procedure, during which her snout was broken, because she worried it looked ‘wonky’.
She also looked ahead and said she will look ‘transparent’ at 80 because of all the work she has had done and how she hopes she will marry and have another child in the coming years.
Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, she said of her nose: ‘There was nothing wrong with it. But, years ago when I had it done I had it shaved – I broke my nail as well because I didn’t want to take my nails off – anyway, years ago when I had it done they shaved it, and it didn’t need doing then.
‘It was just because I was under having my boobs done at the time that I said, ”Have a go at my nose.”
‘But this time, the real reason why I did it is because when I went to Turkey last, a couple of years ago I think it was, there is a new thing called ”lip lift”, like a bullhorn lift, where they cut under your nose and instead of having your lips done it lifts your lips.
‘But they bodged it up, because the scar was bad and he nipped it. So, I wanted it re-done because I thought it made my nose wonky. My nose looked weird since he’d done it.
‘So I actually had it broken. I’ve never had it broken. I said, ”Make my nose look pretty.”
‘So I don’t know what it looks like and I don’t know what to expect.’
But Katie has suffered some post-surgery issues after she nearly choked on the gauze, resulting in her ripping off her bandages, which left her concerned she might have destroyed her new nose.
She explained: ‘If there is anyone out there who has had their nose done, you will understand how uncomfortable it is.
‘You know if you cut yourself you get like a gauze, like a bandage thing. They pack your nose with it, like proper pack your pose with it, and you’ve got to leave it in until you have your stitches out.
‘Anyway, I was in the car swallowing and I kept coughing thinking, ”What is stuck in my throat?”
‘I looked in the mirror and it was a bit of string. I was thinking, ”Have I just swallowed something or what is that?”
‘I pulled it and it was the gauze coming out of the back of my throat. I pulled it more and was like, ”I’m choking, what can I do? I’m not allowed to take it out.”
‘I thought, ”I’m just going to have to pull the pack out.”
‘I grabbed it and pulled it and it looked like a cloth of snot. So then I took the other one out, thinking, ”Right, have I ruined my nose now?”
‘But I called the surgeon and he said, ”No, you will be alright until Friday, just don’t blow your nose or try to wash it because it’s all raw.”
‘I can now breathe better, finally smell and taste food, and I can sleep without waking up with a dry mouth. So that’s that.
‘I’ve never had my nose broken in my life and now I have. I think I look alright.
‘They didn’t break it [last time], they shaved it. I don’t know what he’s done, but I’m going to have a pretty little nose, apparently.
‘At the moment, it looks really wide. But I’ve healed quite well. I thought I would have black eyes.’
Mother-of-five Katie believes she will look ‘transparent’ when she’s in her 80s, because her face is ‘so pulled’ after she went under the knife on numerous occasions.
She said: ‘When I’m 80 I’ll probably look transparent, because my face will be so pulled you’ll see the veins and vessels.
‘But I just want to keep doing what I’m doing. Bringing out things, working. Who knows what will happen in five years?
‘I heard on the news the other day they are testing a new flying car worth £230,000, so it made me think when Jet and Bunny and all that are my age, 45, they will be flying cars and I won’t even be here.’
