Fans of Louisiana State University’s national championship winning baseball team certainly have interesting ways of celebrating the accomplishment.

Nick Perlin, a reporter at ABC affiliate WBRZ in Baton Rouge, Louisiana interviewed a young fan who joined in the celebrations at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium.

But the youngster, 11-year-old Blaysen Zimm, took the opportunity on camera to set up his mother with the Tigers’ star player – pitcher Paul Skenes.

In a now-viral video, Blaysen stepped up to the microphone and said, ‘Paul Skenes, my mom is single bruh. I need you’ as those who overheard laughed around him.

Skenes has seen the video – even ‘liking’ it on Twitter – as the clip continued to gain popularity and traction.

In a follow up interview, the reporters met Blaysen’s mother, Haley Zimm, who said her phone was blowing up on the ride home from the celebration.

‘Just going through the comments everyone is saying “that kid is the G.O.A.T” and I’m like “heck yeah he is,”‘ Haley told WBRZ.

Haley described Blaysen as the quieter of her two children – alongside his eight-year-old brother Brody.

Blaysen said that he’s been seeing his face all over social media apps like TikTok – with the 11-year-old saying, ‘It’s not normal’. But Blaysen said he never intended to go viral at all, saying that he was ‘just looking out for my mama’.

‘I want her to be taken care of, and I love her,’ Blaysen added.

As for Haley, she says she had not previously thought about dating the 21-year-old California pitcher in the past, but says she’s interested in the idea.

Blaysen and a number of his teammates on the Louisiana Pride baseball team are hoping that Skenes and a number of LSU players will show up at a practice of theirs.

Skenes won the Most Outstanding Player award at this year’s Men’s College World Series in fifth-ranked LSU’s upset of second-ranked SEC rival Florida.

It’s the Tigers’ seventh baseball national title and their first since 2009.
