Police are hunting for a man who threw boiling water at a woman in an unprovoked attack on a London street last year.
The woman was left in hospital after a man she did not know threw a ‘boiling liquid’ at her in a south London street.
The woman was walking along Walworth Street, near the junction with Carter Place, in the borough of Southwark on November 10 when the man appeared.
The attacker threw a liquid at her, which was later established to be boiling water.
Police and paramedics were called just after 5.30pm after receiving reports of an assault, and the woman was taken to hospital for treatment.
Scotland Yard has now issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to, as they continue to hunt the person responsible for the attack carried out more than six months ago.
The new appeal comes after an investigation by the Central South Command Unit of the Met Police, including a review of local CCTV cameras.
Detective Chief Inspector Amanda Mawhinney said: ‘We are yet to identify a suspect in connection with this attack, and this will clearly be of concern to the victim.
‘We have now released an image of a man we want to trace who we think could assist our enquiries.’
She added: ‘Anyone who recognises him or has information that could assist us is asked to make contact immediately.’
