A 31-year-old l mother from Texas was shot after confronting her neighbour at 2 a.m. about loud music.
Minutes later, she was staggering back to her own, a bullet hole in her chest.
The mother of three went upstairs to confront the apartment responsible for the loud music — but the situation quickly became heated.
An argument broke out, and the parties eventually found themselves in the parking lot.
That’s when a third person — the neighbour’s guest — approached and shot the woman.
The victim staggered back to her apartment, where one of her young children called the San Antonio police, KSAT.com reports.
Her three kids — between the ages of 3 and 8 — could be heard crying for their mother and asking why she had been shot. They have since been temporarily placed in the custody of relatives.
EMS transported the woman to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery. She is currently in stable condition.
Police indicated that the suspect fled in a small vehicle and have yet to identify him.
Authorities did not find a gun after conducting a search warrant on the apartment where the loud music allegedly came from. They did, however, find additional evidence.
The victim’s identity has not been released by authorities, and the investigation into the Wednesday incident is still ongoing.
