A man allegedly drowned his mother in a park to sacrifice her in order to keep demons away.

Eric Meagan, 34, called 911 on Monday morning and said he had just killed his mother at Still River by Harrybrooke Parke, stated the New Milford Police Department.

Meagen’s mother, Victoria Palmer, 56, was found at the scene and rushed to New Milford Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.

He was arrested without incident and charged with murder, and held on a $2million bond.

Meagan had been saying that demons were after him for several years, his father told police in a report that came to light during his arraignment on Tuesday.

Upon being taken into custody, Meagan told cops, ‘I tried to drown my mom’ to keep the demons away, the arrest report states.

He said he was unable the sleep the prior night because the demons tormented him. Metro reports.

Meagan added that the demons did not tell him to kill his mother or other people.

Meagan said he walked with his mother to the park in Connecticut in order to ‘make the demons stop’ by ‘sacrificing’ her, stated the report, according to The News-Times.

He asked her to go to the park while planning on ‘hurting’ her, the report states. He shoved her in the river and held her underwater for 10 minutes, holding her in a headlock as she struggled.

Meagan admitted to first strangling cats to fend off demons, but said that it did not suffice.

When asked why he chose his mother, he stated, ‘because I love her the most,’ the report read.

‘He stated he feels safe now.’ Police also asked Meagan if he believed what he did was wrong, to which he answered, ‘No.’

He believed his mother loved him so much she would have been willing to sacrifice herself to save him,’ stated the report.

Meagan, who has been receiving mental health treatment, is scheduled to appear at the Superior Court in Litchfield on July 7.
