Milkshake singer Kelis has addressed her romance with actor Bill Murray saying ‘we are both blessed, rich and happy’.
Kelis apparently finds the romance rumours swirling around her and Bill Murray pretty funny judging by her latest response to the claims.
The Milkshake singer, 43, is said to be dating the Ghostbusters actor, 72, after he was spotted watching her perform at London’s Mighty Hoopla festival earlier this month.
Sources claim the two bonded over the deaths of their spouses; Kelis’ husband Mike Mora died in 2022 following a battle with cancer, while Bill’s longtime wife Jennifer Butler, who he divorced in 2008, died in 2021 aged 54.
With speculation mounting about the nature of their relationship, Kelis addressed the dating claims on Instagram, responding to a fan who asked her to set the record straight: ‘Lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all.’
Another follower commented under a set of pictures from Kelis’ sun-kissed holiday: ‘You ain’t no beach bum… U a BB each bummy lol bill got u out by here riding his wave lol media is destroying y’all 🤣🤣🤣🤣.’
The Caught Out There singer replied: ‘Lol yeah maybe for now everyones dumb and will believe anything but the best part is we are both blessed , rich and happy . So who’s really laughing 😂 now that’s funny.’
It’s still not clear whether the romance rumours are true but Kelis is clearly unbothered and enjoying the discussion.
A source previously told The Sun that the stars had been ‘getting close for a while’ and were staying at the same hotel in London when Kelis was in town to perform at Mighty Hoopla in Brockwell Park and Bill was spotted watching her from the side of the stage.
‘They were both seen at the same hotel, and he’s been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla,’ an insider told the publication.
‘But they’ve also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them.
‘Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.’
Bill wasn’t just in London to be Kelis’ cheerleader as he was busy filming for the new Ghostbusters alongside Dan Ackroyd and Sigourney Weaver.
