Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov has criticized Vladimir Putin’s war tactics for not being “bold” enough amid his invasion of Ukraine and demanding that Russia declare martial law.
The strongman, previously seen as a close ally of the Kremlin, said the drone strike on Moscow this week showed a tougher response is needed from the Russian military to bring the war to NATO countries.
“Reactions to such attempts to attack should not be harsh – they should be brutal,” Kadyrov said.
“In my opinion, it is necessary to declare martial law in Russia, to use all appropriate means of combat to wipe out this entire terrorist cell. [in Ukraine] instantly.’
It comes after Wagner mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin also demanded martial law across Russia, amid speculation he may be working with unidentified figures within Putin’s circle in an attempt to oust the despot.
War fanatic Kadyrov claimed that Ukraine had a “Nazi” and “Satanist” leadership.
“Touch on the accumulation sites of these terrorist leaders until [there is nothing left]so that the rest wouldn’t even think badly of Russia.’
The Chechen warlord demanded an escalation of the conflict that would bring the war to NATO.
“European countries should think about who they sponsor and under what conditions they supply weapons,” he said.
‘It is counterproductive if Russia knocks on the door of, for example, Germany or Poland.
“And there will be nothing to answer us with – all the weapons have been spent on Ukraine.”
He claimed: “We will soon demonstrate in the special military operations zone what revenge is in the full sense of the word.”
Kadyrov echoes Wagner’s mercenary leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin, who demanded martial law across Russia and put the country on an all-out war base.
Yet Putin has shied away from criticism from his fellow Russians, apparently fearing that the declaration of martial law would spark resentment against his war.
Kadyrov said troops in Chechen units have been ordered to deploy in the Russian-occupied Donetsk People’s Republic.
