Seven bodies, including those of two missing teenagers and a convicted sex offender, were found Monday afternoon on a property near the small Oklahoma city of Henryetta, the county sheriff said.
The search for missing teenagers Ivy Webster, 14, and Brittany Brewer, 16, ended in tragedy on Monday afternoon when investigators discovered seven bodies on a property in rural Henryetta.
‘We are no longer looking,’ Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice said at the crime scene. ‘We believe to have found everything that were seeking this morning.’
Authorities sounded ember alarm about the missing teens after they failed to return home from a friend’s house on Sunday, but the alert was called off after the bodies were found.
‘[Webster] went with a friend on Saturday to the McAlester area and was supposed to return home by 5.00pm last night and now contact can not be made with her,’ the sheriff’s department said in an alert that was broadcast on Monday morning.
Later, the sheriff’s office said Webster and Brewer were last seen traveling with Jesse Lee McFadden, a 39-year-old ex-convict from Henryetta.
McFadden was convicted of first-degree rape in 2003. He was released from prison in 2020 and registered with Oklahoma’s sex offender registry.
McFadden, 39, had been scheduled to begin a trial on Monday at 9.00am for using a cellphone while in prison to send sexual messages to a teenage girl, according to court records.
He was issued a bench warrant for failure to appear.
Just hours later, police executed a search warrant at a property just east of Henryetta where McFadden listed his residence on the sex offender registry.
They discovered the seven bodies on the property, but not inside the residence, investigators said.
Sheriff Rice said that they were waiting for confirmation from the medical examiner’s office, but they believed they found all missing persons at the property, including McFadden.
The sheriff declined to identify any of the other bodies found, and could not say if any of the other bodies belonged to minors.
Rice said officers arrived at about 3 p.m. (2000 GMT) to search the property and found the bodies.
Justin Webster, the father of Ivy Webster, told Fox 23 that his daughter spent the night at McFadden’s home with her friends. He said that McFadden lived at the home with his wife Holly and her three children.
‘Ivy just had her 14th birthday, so she brought the money she wanted to spend,’ Webster told the local station.
‘So they went out and they were spending the night with Brittany and Tiffany over at Holly and Jesse McFadden’s house.
’The grieving father said he and his wife only found out about McFadden’s status as a sex offender when the emergency notifications were broadcast on Monday.
