Meghan Markle model pal Kelly McKee Zajfen has thanked her for being an “incredible friend and mother” after the tragic death of her nine-year-old son last year.
Posting a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, Zajfen called Meghan “incredibly nurturing and warm” and said she was “truly in awe” of the Duchess of Sussex.
She also said Meghan was quick to “support those you love” while being a “fierce advocate for those who are in need”.
When Kelly McKee Zajfen’s son George died after being found unresponsive at home, Prince Harry and Meghan donated around $5,000 dollars to a GoFundMe page set up in his honour.
George’s death came as a complete shock to the Zajfen family. Kelly is now the co-founder of Alliance of Mums, a group that supports pregnant and parenting teens in foster care.
In her Instagram post, Kelly Zajfen said: “As Mother’s Day approaches, I can’t help but think of my own #commUNITY of Motherhood. I instantly think of you Meg.
“How incredibly nurturing and warm and open you are. What an incredible friend and mother. I’m truly in awe of you and I am so grateful you are part of my #CommUNITYofmotherhood.”
She added: “You are always the first to say yes and support those you love. You are a fierce advocate for those who are in need.
“Thank you for joining this year’s campaign to support LA’s expectant and parenting foster youth, which helps provide critical services, education, resources and advocacy so they can build a better future for themselves and their families.”
