Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were seen engaging in another tense exchanges while the couple hit the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie, The Mother, on Wednesday evening, May 10.
Jennifer, 53 – who leads the cast of the action project – was pictured gesticulating at her husband, 50, with a frown on her face while he strained, looking firm during the chat.
They both appear to make pointing gestures in a seemingly tense interaction at the event, with it looking as though there was some friction during the exchange last night.
After the tense conversation, the couple posed for pictures and shared beaming kisses. They were among the guests at the premiere for the film in Los Angeles Wednesday, ahead of its release on Netflix today (May 12).
However, according to a lip reader, while the couple may have appeared frustrated at times, they were mainly speaking about where and how they should pose for photographers.
Video footage shows the actors looking tense at some points, as snappers shout their names, as well as showing the couple smiling and laughing as they pose on the red carpet. DailyMail reports.
An expert lipreader told FEMAIL that during the interchange, Jennifer appears to ask Ben whether her low cut top is ‘showing too much’, prompting him to respond that it is fine.
Both the actors then seemed to speak with the crowd of photographers, trying to ascertain where they should stand.
Throughout a clip of the interchange, the couple seem to interact in a friendly manner, though at times look as though the fraught atmosphere may be causing some stress.
After finding a spot to pose in, Ben appeared to tell his wife to come closer to him, before leaning into her ear and saying ‘don’t worry babe’. His wife responds, telling him ‘come close to me’.
Once the couple have stood for photos, Ben says ‘that’s us done’, before kissing Jennifer, and asking is she is ok.
Wednesday’s appearance comes after the couple hit headlines at the Grammys in February when Jennifer was caught on camera demanding Ben pretend to be enjoying himself, in an embarrassing exchange.
Jennifer said: ‘Look more friendly. Look motivated’, Affleck replies: ‘I might.’
They seemed to have another awkward interaction when Ben was caught on camera angrily confronting Lopez at the Shotgun Wedding premiere in January 18.
