Canadian rapper, Aubrey Drake Graham, popularly known as Drake has stirred reactions about his chances of finally being a Nigerian after the results of his father’s ancestry revealed that he was 30% Nigerian.
The rap megastar, 36, shared on his Insta-story, a screenshot from his father, Dennis Graham, which revealed that the rap star’s dad possessed more Nigerian roots than any other ethnicity in the world.
He wrote in his caption, ‘This my dad’s results, does this mean I’m a Naija man finally?.’
According to the screenshot, Drake’s DNA is 30% Nigerian, 28% Cameroonian, Congolese and Western Bantu, 11% Ivory Coasterian and Ghanaian and 8% West and Northern European.
On Twitter, many fans joked that the time was ripe for Drake to finally drop the Afrobeat album he must have been terribly itching to release.
‘Drake went to do check DNA to know if he has Nigerian roots so that when he drops an Afrobeats album, nobody would question him,’ international music journalist Basito wrote.
