Princess Kate's Childhood Living Room Is Just Like Ours

She may be well-acquainted with the palace life now, but growing up, the Princess of Wales led a life of relative normality. The royal grew up in West View in Bradfield, Berkshire with her parents Carole and Michael Middleton. The four-bedroom semi which the Middletons bought in 1979 for £34,700 was where the princess-to-be resided until she was 13.

Only recently fans gained a sneak peek inside the property’s living room space. While the property is now worth a staggering £748,000, which is just over 21 times more than what they paid for it, its features were surprisingly modest, including the family living room.

The space featured a red brick fireplace, cream walls, a wooden table, a window looking into the outdoor area, a white mirror, a woven chair positioned in the corner under some wooden bookshelves and a wooden floor. A delicate yet simple chandelier-style light flooded the room with warm tones.

Princess Kate’s parents enjoyed 16 years at the Victorian property located opposite the village green with their three children, that included James and Pippa Middleton. Upon the sale of the property in 1995, the family bagged themselves a hefty profit with the £158,000 price tag of the house.

During the ownership, it is reported that Kate’s father Michael made significant improvements to the house, including converting one of the bedrooms into a bathroom and extending the kitchen, which of course would have added to its value.
