Local authorities were called just after 10.30am on Saturday when a woman’s body was found in the water at the Thames and Kennet Marina near Reading.

Thomas Valley Police were treating the case as an unexplained death.

Nevertheless, a 61-year-old man was initially arrested on suspicion of murder after the woman’s body was found in marina water.

A police spokesman said: ‘A man was arrested in connection with the investigation but he has now been released with no further action to be taken.

‘We would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we investigate the circumstances.

‘Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who has died.’

The mystery over marina’s death deepens as cops have enough reason to release the suspected man, with no further action to be taken.
