King Charles And Queen Consort Camilla Thrill Fans With Unexpected Outing Ahead Of Coronation

King Charles III and his wife Queen Consort Camilla delighted royal well-wishers on Saturday morning as they stepped out for a restaurant visit in Ballater, Aberdeenshire.

The couple’s surprise visit was captured by an avid royal fan who filmed Charles and Camilla following their morning visit to a newly-opened restaurant called the Fish Shop.

Much to the delight of local fans who lined the streets, the royal couple briefly paused to shake hands and chat with the gathering crowds.

For the special occasion, Charles opted to wear a smart oatmeal-hued suit and a navy tie. Camilla, meanwhile, looked her usual polished self in a pair of dark trousers, a blue and white checked shirt, a fitted brown jacket, and a striped scarf.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts in the comments section, with one writing: “Wow how cool. Surreal, actually. Especially so close to the Coronation,” while a second noted: “How cool is that. Just out as normal people visiting a restaurant. The royals are so great.”

A third noted: “What a wonderful surprise and it isn’t lovely that they stopped and had a chat!” while a fourth added: “I LOVE this, how lovely to see them out and about, casually talking to people.”

Charles and Camilla are thought to be enjoying some much-needed downtime in Balmoral ahead of their grand coronation day. Whilst the royal family has a whole host of regal properties across the UK, Scotland seems to hold a special place in their hearts.

The monarch and his wife will be crowned in a joint ceremony on 6 May inside Westminster Abbey. Earlier this month, the royal palace confirmed that Charles’s eldest grandson, Prince George, will take on a prominent role at the ceremony.

The nine-year-old, who is second-in-line to the throne, is one of four Pages of Honour to the King, along with the children of family friends, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, 13, Nicholas Barclay, 13, and Ralph Tollemache, 12.
