Ellie Hinton gave birth to Matilda in Southmead Hospital in Bristol, the same place where she first met her husband while delivering babies together for a patient a decade ago on Christmas Day.
Ellie and Cameron, who married in 2018, faced fertility issues. But they were able to fund IVF treatment with support from their parent, which helped them give birth to their first daughter, Hattie.
While they had hopes for a second child, they grew worried as the cost of paying for multiple rounds of IVF was steep. But all of that changed in August 2021, when they won a lottery to bag £30,000.
According to reports, the Hintons won £30,000 out of a total prize of £360,000 which was shared between them and their neighbours.
It happened after their street was drawn in the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The couple spent their winnings on an embryo transfer. By March 2022, they got to know that their second IVF was successful.
Matilda was born in November 2022 weighing 8lb 9oz. Times reported.
‘Matilda is a very happy baby. Hattie is not best pleased about having to share me, but she’s getting used to the idea.
‘I realise how lucky we were that it worked in the end, and I have so much respect and sympathy for those going through infertility, it’s not easy,’ said Ellie.
‘It was so exciting and also a relief to know we wouldn’t have to go through the whole cycle again and that was our last embryo in storage,’ she added.
Cameron is a creepy loser…
Their genes suck. IVF is a means to propagate poor genetics. It should be banned.
