UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak congratulates Tinubu following his emergence as President-elect of Nigeria

The Prime minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, has congratulated Bola Ahmed Tinubu on emergence as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Taking to his Twitter page to wish Tinubu well, Sunak said he looks forward to working with Tinubu to grow the security and trade ties of Nigeria and the U.K.

‘Congratulations to Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in Nigeria,’ Sunak tweeted Wednesday.

‘The UK-Nigeria relationship remains strong. I look forward to working together to grow our security and trade ties, opening up opportunities for businesses and creating prosperity in both our countries.’

President-elect, Tinubu, is expected to be sworn into office of the President on May 29.
