Teenage girl gang batter female passenger with bottle, another man hospitalised

A teenage girl gang of four has been accused of hospitalising a man after attacking him with a crutch and assaulting a woman with a ‘bottle’ on a bus.

The four girls have been accused of assaulting the two passengers on a bus in Thornton Heath, South London, in August last year.

A woman was allegedly struck in the head with a ‘bottle’ after the suspects boarded the bus and sat behind her.

Then a man sitting nearby was allegedly attacked with a crutch which left him hospitalised with a head injury.

The Metropolitan Police released images of the suspects Saturday and has urged members of the public to come forward with any information which might identify them.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: ‘The incident happened at around 12.30am on 28 August 2022 on board the route 250 bus from Streatham to Croydon.

‘The victims – a man and a woman – were sitting towards the rear on the top deck of the bus when four females boarded and sat behind them.

‘As the bus was in the vicinity of Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath, the woman was struck with a bottle by the group.

‘Both the man and the woman moved from their seats but they were followed before the man was struck with a crutch. The group of females then left the bus.

The man required hospital treatment for a head injury.
