Kate Middleton delighted fashion fans when she stepped out at this year’s BAFTAs wearing a pair of glamorous black opera gloves. And now it seems Princess Anne has turned to Kate Middleton for fashion inspiration for her latest engagement.
As a guest of honor at the annual event, which has raised more than £30m for the charity, the Princess Royal cut a glamorous figure in a sparkling green gown with short sleeves.
The show-stopping dress features several embellished patterns running diagonally across the front as well as small slits on the sides.
The Princess Royal, 72, cut a glamorous figure last night as she was pictured arriving at London’s Grosvenor Hotel for the International Finance Review Awards.
Along with some black suede heels and a rectangular clutch with gold hardware, the princess finished off her glittering outfit with a pair of black velvet gloves.
Apparently inspired by her nephew’s wife, Princess Anne’s gloves also ended just above her elbows – meaning most of her arms were covered as she braved the cold in the capital.
Last month, stylist Miranda Golder praised Kate Middleton’s ‘fashion forward’ look – which saw the mother-of-three get her gloves on with a recycled one-shoulder Alexander McQueen gown.
Experts labeled Kate Middleton’s bold monochrome outfit as ‘confident’ of the princess.
Speaking to the Mirror, Miranda said: ‘Since being crowned Princess of Wales, Kate’s style has become more refined and confident, as she takes on this new role with gusto, every inch our future queen.
‘Compared to previous BAFTA dresses, this look is bigger, even more, polished and poised, showing us that Kate can take on whatever challenges are thrown her way.’
She added the statement the monochromatic look helped Kate stand out on the red carpet so members of the public could see her – which typified the late Queen’s style.
