The 30-year-old “Lose You to Love Me” singer and the 30-year-old former One Direction member, who made headlines after having an allegedly PDA-filled dinner date, hooked up back in the day, a new report claims.
The two got together “way back” when Selena’s BFF Taylor Swift was dating Zayn’s former bandmate, Harry Styles, Page Six reported on Monday (March 27).
A top music industry source tells the outlet: “They had a thing years ago when Taylor and Harry were dating. It doesn’t surprise me at all that they’re potentially together [today].”
The insider says they “had a thing” in 2012 while Taylor and Harry were dating in the fall of 2012. Taylor and Harry were first photographed that December, and split the following month.
Furthermore, the 30-year-old “The Heart Wants What It Wants” hitmaker and 30-year-old “Pillowtalk” crooner and One Direction alum were reportedly spotted out grabbing dinner in New York City on Thursday (March 23).
A hostess who seated them at the restaurant claimed that they came in and were looking very much coupled up.
A clip on TikTok has gone viral and features a text from the hostess who reportedly seated Zayn and Selena. In it, they claim that the couple walked in “hand in hand” and were “making out” before they even got seated.
The TikTok continued, noting that Selena is one of the few accounts that Zayn currently follows on Instagram, which feeds into the rumors.
Photos of the pair together have not yet been released. However, People noted that Selena named Zayn as the One Direction member that she was most likely to want to kiss during an interview back in 2010.
