Actor Lance Reddick, best known for his roles in The Wire and John Wick alongside Keanu Reeves, was found dead at his home in Studio City, Los Angeles on March 17.
His death came as shock to all. He died Friday morning at age 60.
His cause of death still remains unknown as official post-mortem results are yet to be released, but it is thought he died of natural causes.
Taking to her Instagram over the weekend, his wife Stephanie Day broke her silence on the tragedy in a touching tribute.
‘Lance was taken from us far too soon.’
She went on to thank friends, family and fans for all their support over the past few days.
‘Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them,’ she penned.
Signing off the heartfelt post, Stephanie thanked Destiny 2 players who paid a special tribute to him following his death.
‘And to the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game.’
She also added donations in Lance’s memory could be made to momcares.org in his hometown of Baltimore.
Lance was taking part in a press tour for the fourth instalment of popular franchise John Wick prior to his death.
The deceased shared two children with Stephanie.
Following his death, his famous pals flocked to pay tribute to the actor, including his co-star Keanu Reeves.
Keanu released a joint statement with Wick series director Chad Stahelski as they mourn the loss of their co-worker and friend.
‘We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick,’ they said.
‘He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family and friends.’
The joint statement revealed that they would be dedicating the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4 to the star.
‘We dedicate the film to his loving memory,’ they said. ‘We will miss him dearly.’
Reddick was set to return as the Continental’s concierge Charon as the movie released this week.
