American model and social media influencer, Jeff Thomas has died at the age of 35 after reportedly falling from an apartment balcony in a suspected suicide, sources claim.
Authorities discovered Thomas’ body last Wednesday at an apartment complex in Miami, with witnesses claiming that he threw himself from the balcony, TMZ reported.
Thomas’ body was found on the sidewalk below and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services. Many witnesses were reported outside the building, and animal control was present to retrieve a dog that was left in the apartment.
While the autopsy has been completed, officials haven’t officially disclosed a cause of death at this time.
However, suicide is suspected, according to the outlet.
But his agent from the Los Angeles-based Sovereign Talent Group told DailyMail exclusively that she was shocked to hear about her client’s sudden and tragic passing that happened on March 8. The pair had been texting just 24 hours before he died from an apparent suicide.Â
During their text exchange she said that he sounded like his positive happy self.
‘We were talking about a funny audition that I had for him that involved some type of petty fight. We laughed about it and he told me how he is a comedian at heart. I am just stunned. I don’t even know how to react.’
Also, Thomas’ cousin Meghan Rae told DailyMail that his family member did not die by suicide.
‘This was not a suicide. To report otherwise is a complete disregard to his character and who he was,’ she said.
Thomas, a popular figure on Instagram with over 120,000 followers had been signed to the London-based agency AMCK, and appeared in various runway shows, magazines, and commercials.
The native Floridian was also the founder and director of the contemporary art consultancy One Popsicle.
In one of his final posts, before he died, Thomas uploaded a black-and-white image of his latest tattoo, which read ‘resilience’ – it was March 6, two days before his body was discovered.
His muscular physique singled him out as the perfect candidate for underwear modelling.
His final post, shared from a local spa, captured Thomas reclining in a plunge pool with the caption: ‘A cold plunge a day, keeps the doctor away.’
The news of his sudden passing has sent shockwaves through the model and entertainment industry, leaving many in mourning.
Friends, colleagues and followers have since paid tribute to the model across social media, with many praising him for his ‘positive energy.’
