With just two months into the year 2023, you might assume that celebrities have not made the headlines or gotten into any kind of trouble. However, that is not the case. Regardless of the fact that the year is just starting, a few celebrities have gotten themselves into trouble. Enough trouble for them to be arrested for something.
Shockingly, the number of celebrities who have been arrested in just two months of the new year are quite numerous. From movie stars to football stars, famous people all over the world have been arrested from the first month of the year.
Ally Lotti
The ex-girlfriend of American rapper JuiceWRLD, and Instagram star Ally Lotti was arrested on the 14th of January alongside her boyfriend Carter Jamison for shoplifting at a Walmart store in Arkansas.
In addition to the theft charge, drugs were said to be found on Lotti as well, as both her and her boyfriend were caught by security cameras at self-checkout after they failed to scan some items they purchased. Although Carter was booked for theft of property, he was released on the same day while Lotti was released 2 days later.
Darius Miles
A 21 year old former basketball player in the University of Alabama named Darius Miles was arrested on the 15th of January for his connection to the shooting and subsequent murder of a woman named Jamea Harris.
Although surveillance footage has confirmed Michael Davis to be the actual shooter, Miles admitted to being the one that provided the gun to Davis. Both men were arrested on the same day of the shooting, and has been charged with capital murder. While investigations are still ongoing, it is believed that the motive was a minor altercation as Davis and the victim did not know each other.
Presently, Miles have been released from the Alabama men’s basketball team following his arrest, and the school has released a statement fully dismissing him from the team.
El DeBarge
The ‘Rhythm of the night’ singer El DeBarge was arrested on the 8th of January for the possession of a controlled substance, a leaded cane or baton, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
After noticing that he had expired tags, cops approached him at a gas station and saw a metal baton in his care. Seen as an illegal weapon, his car was searched and a pepper spray, as well as a substance suspected to be heroin was found also. He was released on $25k bail, and is due to appear in court in march.
