Rihanna earned $97,000 in royalties from streaming after Super Bowl halftime show

‘The Good Girl Gone Bad’ star may not have been paid to perform at the Super Bowl, but she still made a sizable chunk of money just from royalties after the February 12 performance.

While EB reported that Rihanna was not paid for her electrifying performance at the Super Bowl.

Fans took to streaming apps after the halftime show to listen to her most popular tunes, with Spotify noting that streaming of her music went up a whopping 640 percent immediately after the show.

The estimates for royalties were arrived at by multiplying Spotify’s standard royalty rate by the number of plays following the Super Bowl, so it excludes any royalties that singer would have made from other streaming services and from digital and physical media purchases. DailyMail reports.

Umbrella was her most popular post-Super Bowl song. It was streamed 4.4 million times on Spotify for around $17,780 in royalties, based on a calculation of $0.004 per stream; seen Sunday

According to the site, ‘Umbrella’ was the most profitable of the nine Rihanna originals from her set.

The song appeared to earn around $17,780.60 for 4.4 million plays, which was arrived at by multiplying the three-day play count by $0.004, which is the average amount Spotify pays per a stream.

The 2007 single, which was featured on her third album Good Girl Gone Bad, was the oldest of the tunes that she performed during her 13-minute medley set.

We Found Love and Diamonds rounded out her most popular tracks, with $15,227 and $14,160 in royalties, respectively; seen with partner A$AP Rocky in October in Hollywood

‘We Found Love’ was close behind with 3.8 million plays over three days, potentially earning Rihanna around $15,227.01. It was featured on her hit album Talk That Talk.

Rihanna’s hit Rude Boy was streamed a respectable 1.8 million times for around $7,523.72.

It was previously reported by Spotify that the lead song from Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance, B**** Better Have My Money, had he biggest increase in streaming figures following the show, which may have been because it was initially a less-popular song due to its status as a stand-alone single.

However, its relative rarity meant that it was still one of the less-popular songs that she performed during the evening.

In the three days after the show, it was streamed 1.6 million times, generating around $6,753.48 in royalties.

The least popular of Rihanna’s songs after the Super Bowl was Pour It Up, which generated $6,351.74 in royalties from 1.5 million Spotify streams.
