On Monday, a brutal fight occurred at Philadelphia International Airport between Spirit Airline employees and a mother and daughter duo.
The altercation erupted after a 39-year-old mother and her 17-year-old daughter received extra baggage fees because their carry-on bags exceeded the limit size, it was reported.
In a now-viral video, the two passengers are seen grabbing and punching the gate agents near the jetway entrance. The 17-year-old teenager then tugs at one of the staffer’s dreadlocks.
However, another worker intervenes and hits the teenager in the back of the head.
Eventually, the teen let go of the worker’s hair but the angry agent still sends several blows to the girl’s face.
Meanwhile, her mother is just a few steps away and has come out of her shirt and shoes. However, this did not stop the mom from throwing punches as she continues to fight in just her bra.
At one stage a little boy, believed to be part of the same family, starts hitting a Spirit employee before running away in tears and sinking to his knees.
Just as the brawl appears to fizzle the mom makes a dash towards the counter and grabs a keyboard but is dragged away and punched in the head from behind by one of the Spirit agents.
Her wig is torn off before a uniformed official, either a cop or a security guard, finally shows up and the fighting ends, some two and a half minutes into the video.
After about 2 minutes, a uniformed official arrives and breaks up the fight.
According to the Philly Police Department, no one was seriously injured in the altercation but a 24-year-old woman had a minor cut near her eye.
Nevertheless, no arrests were made following the incident and the flight to Fort Lauderdale continued as scheduled.
Well… there baggage fees are pretty high and they aren’t fair with how they assess them. I don’t ever fly on (no) Spirit Airwaves or whatever… Their customer service is awful. And the fight is awful
