Lagos State govt shuts down Chrisland school following death of Whytney Adeniran

A 12-year-old Chrisland student identified as Whitney Adeniran was pronounced dead after claim that the girl slumped during their Inter-House Sport.

The girl was reportedly dead during their interhouse sports day last Thursday, February 9.

In a new audio leaked after Chrisland School Management revealed that they’ve reached out to relevant authorities over the course of her death – to ascertain how Whitney died through autopsy.

Meanwhile a new audio has leaked where another student claimed that the course of Whitney’s death is down to electrocution.

The alleged student said: ‘Whitney went to buy popcorn and cotton candy and touched one of the machines producing either cotton candy or popcorn and was electrocuted.’

The Lagos state government has now ordered the temporary closure of Chrisland school in Opebi-Ikeja.

The girl was reportedly dead during their interhouse sports day last Thursday, February 9.

A statement released by the state government yesterday says the school is closed pending the outcome of an investigation into the unfortunate incident, according to LIB.

A release signed by the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo said the closure was ordered pending the outcome of a full investigation into the unfortunate incident.

LASG ORDERS CLOSURE OF CHRISLAND SCHOOL: ‘The Lagos State Ministry of Education has ordered the temporary closure of Chrisland School, Opebi-Ikeja, following the reported death of a student of the School, Whytney Adeyemi.’
