Heartbroken wife of rugby league player Joe Westerman ‘will never take him back’

The heartbroken wife of sexually shamed rugby league player Joe Westerman has told friends how she will never take him back.

A devastated Lauren Westerman, 33, was spending Valentine’s Day alone with her three children after the star was filmed performing a sex act on a woman in a dark alleyway.

The woman in the footage is alleged to be the wife of one of the defender’s best friends, who is also the mother of young children.

The rugby star has been forced to publicly apologize to his family and friends after the graphic video caused a global storm when it was posted on social media.

One friend of Lauren’s said: ‘The marriage is over for good and Joe knows that. There is no way Lauren will ever take him back.

Yesterday EB revealed how Lauren – who married the loose forward in 2014 – hadn’t spoken to her husband since the footage emerged and was focusing on protecting their children.

‘Now she has told friends there is no way back for the Castleford Tigers player.

According to DailyMail, Lauren told how she was left ‘shocked and numb’ by the betrayal and the impact it would have on their children, particularly their 15-year-old daughter.

She reportedly told friends: ‘There’s no way you can come back after something so horrific.

‘It is one trillion per cent finished.

‘What kind of example would I be setting to my children – particularly my girls – if I were to give it another go?

‘I want them to know that this is not alright, that it isn’t acceptable behaviour in a relationship and that we all have self-worth.

‘I now have to think about my children and begin rebuilding our future together. It’s daunting, but he’s got no one to blame but himself.’

Lauren told friends how her husband had texted her ‘a few times’ to say sorry.

It’s believed Joe has also been shunned by his friend who he has known for many years.
