Grannies recreate Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance in TikTok video

A group of grandmas from a Kentucky assisted-living facility went viral this week with a TikTok video recreating part of Rihanna’s performance at the Super Bowl halftime show – with some commenters even suggesting they out-performed the pop legend.

Eleven ladies ages 80 to 92 appear in the 12-second video posted Thursday dressed in all white, and pop out of the screen by two’s to reveal 87-year-old Dora Martin dressed in all red, holding a microphone and lip-syncing lyrics from Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy.’

The women of the Arcadia Senior Living Facility in Kentucky are currently getting their flowers and going mega-viral for sharing their own iteration of a snippet of the concert

‘I’m just a silly person, and I like to do what other people want me to do,’ Martin told The Post about why she decided to participate in the video.

Martin, 82-year-old Sue Evans and 86-year-old Pat — who declined to give her last name — said they were happily roped into making the video by two 20-something-year-old employees at Arcadia Senior Living.

In the 12 second video, the ladies in white are seen peeling to the sides and revealing their ‘Rihanna’ dressed in all-red to recreate the singer’s look from the big game

‘It does keep us young,’ Martin said. ‘They do a nice job at trying to change up the atmosphere here…by trying different things – and we enjoy falling for it,’ Pat chimed in.

The video has been watched on TikTok has three million likes as of February 27.

In less than a week, their recreation has received more than 24 million views. That number continues to grow as does the number of comments with viewers sharing their delight, surprise, and even jealousy of how amazing the group is.

Three of the dancers in the video recently sat down with ‘Fox & Friends’ and explained how they came up with the idea and how they were given their parts.

Pat, Dora, and Sue sat down with ‘Fox and Friends’ to discuss their viral video

Pat, Dora and Sue – three of the dancers – told the Fox host their social director had come up with the idea and pitched it to the group.

The sprite ladies were more than willing to give it a try. Dora, who played ‘Rihanna,’ said she thinks she was chosen for a couple of reasons.

‘I think I had the biggest swing,’ she said, as Pat and Sue joked it was just because Dora had the red outfit to fit the role.

Sue, who blows the kiss at the beginning, said she showed it to her family and they loved the idea and the execution.

Pat’s family agreed, and she said her daughters called her ‘bold’ for participating.

Of course, the comments of the viral video we’re flooded with similar praise for the elderly women who have not let old age stop them from having fun.

‘I love this so much. I miss my grandma and grandpa so much. This was perfect,’ said one commenter.

‘Maybe they’ll want us next year for the Super Bowl,’ Evans said with a laugh.
