There was terror on a Russian flight today when an An-26 plane’s rear door sprang open soon after takeoff in the world’s coldest region.
A Russian flight door burst open resulting in the depressurised cabin which flung most of the luggage of the passengers into the cold air, reports said. Notably, an An-26 plane’s rear door sprang open soon after takeoff.
The horrifying moment was captured on camera. No injuries were reported. Though, most luggage belonging to passengers was sucked out of the plane’s door when it burst open, said later reports.
The video showed the rear door of the IrAero Antonov aircraft, which had taken off from Magan in the region of Yakutsk, eastern Siberia, at -41 degrees Celsius cold.

The passenger who filmed the video was seated in a rear seat on the plane, bound for Magadan on Russia’s Pacific coast is heard swearing in shock at the open door behind him.
Notably, the rear door to load cargo and luggage normally curtained off at the back of the plane. In the video that has gone viral on social media, strong winds are seen blowing the curtain.
Following the incident, the pilot made a quick emergency landing at Magan in the Siberian region of Yakutsk. All passengers aboard the plane reported being ‘safe’.
‘Fortunately, the 25 people on board, including the crew, were unharmed. The caps off some people’s heads flew into the white void,’ read a report.
An investigation is underway into the incident, as per the Daily Mail.
Magan is eight miles from Yakutsk, the world’s coldest city, and capital of the Yakutsk district in Siberia, Russia.
