50 Cent says he’s going to apologize to Megan Thee Stallion over doubts about her story in 2020 Tory Lanez shooting

50 Cent has revealed he intends to apologise to Megan Thee Stallion after he suggested she wasn’t being truthful about Tory Lanez, who last month was convicted of shooting the WAP rapper in July 2020.

Megan, real name Megan Pete, said the shooting occurred when she left a party in Los Angeles and resulted in her being wounded and needing surgery to remove bullet fragments from her feet.

Last month, 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, shared a since-deleted social media post that showed Megan morphing into former Empire actor Jussie Smollett.

Smollett was convicted of faking a 2019 hate crime attack and alongside a meme comparing Megan to the actor, 50 wrote: ‘Damn I’m confused all this s**t going around I don’t know what to think LOL.’

The 47-year-old hip-hop star has now explained that he was initially sceptical about Megan’s claims because he thought she’d lied about being intimate with Tory.

Of hearing the audio, 50 said: ‘That made me feel like, ‘Oh s***, now I know what happened; I’m sure that was probably what swayed people in court too.’

Speaking on Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Real 92.3 this week, 50 said: ‘I’m gonna apologise to Megan Thee Stallion.

‘I said some things, and it was because when she was with Gayle [King] – [Gayle] said, ‘Were you intimate with Tory Lanez?’

However, despite 50 not being convinced by Megan’s claims she and Tory were just friends, he admitted a leaked phone conversation between Tory and Megan’s then-friend Kelsey Harris made him realise she hadn’t been lying.

The call, which Tory made from his jail cell just hours after the shooting, was a key piece of evidence in the case and although Tory – real name Daystar Peterson – didn’t outright confess to shooting Megan in the audio, he seemingly acknowledged something went down.

Tory said according to Rolling Stone: ‘I know she [Megan] probably never, ever gonna talk to me ever again.

‘Megan is yet to publicly comment on the verdict, but while recently taking the stand in court she became emotional as she recalled the incident.

On the second day of the trial, she told the court through tears: ‘I’m having a really difficult time sitting up here telling my story and having to sit across [from] people who have made up lies about me and having to [sit] across from Tory.
