This is when Ukrainian troops destroyed a Russian T-73 in a tank duel.
Aerial footage shows a Ukrainian T-64 rolling down a road before opening fire and appearing to hit a Russian opponent.
The T-64 appears to land a direct hit with the first shot, quickly following up with a second shot to finish the job. It continues to fire on the Russian position, with explosions and flames seen in the footage as smoke rises into the sky.
The release of the footage comes as Russian forces pound targets in eastern and southern Ukraine with missiles, drones and artillery, and as Moscow continues to hurl what’s left of its offensive power at the city of Bakhmut.
The footage of the life-and-death struggle was obtained from the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade on Sunday, December 11.
Along with the video, the unit released a statement celebrating the victory, which read: “Tank crew T-64BV, the famous 92 separate mechanized brigade, engaged in a tank duel against a Russian T-72B3. Ukrainian tankers proved who is boss in Ukraine!
“From the first shot, the enemy tank turned to scrap. Glory to Ukraine and the tank troops! Victory is ours!’ added the statement.
The footage, taken by a drone overlooking an unfamiliar battlefield, shows the Ukrainian tank rolling down a road littered with wreckage, with a row of leafless trees and bombed fields on the left and destroyed buildings on the right.
