Toni Collette announced her split from her husband of two decades just days ago, and on Friday she shared a haunting post to Instagram.
She shared the cryptic message to Instagram following her shock divorce from long-time partner Dave Galafassi when he was spotted kissing another woman.
The post was flooded with comments from Collette’s fans, with one writing that she deserved to win an Oscar for Hereditary.
Another fan shared a poem from Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke, writing: ‘I live my life in widening rings, that stretch out over things. I will not complete the last one perhaps but I want to try.
‘I circle around God, around the ancient tower, and I have circled for thousands of years; and still I do not know: am I a falcon, a storm or a great song?
‘The Hollywood great’s soon-to-be ex-husband was snapped passionately kissing a woman in the surf off a Sydney beach.
Galafassi, who was a drummer in an indie rock band when he met the Muriel’s Wedding star, was pictured on Wednesday taking an early morning dip at Manly with chiropractor Shannon Egan.
‘It is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing,’ the pair wrote. ‘We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other.
‘Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit a different shape. We’re thankful for the space and love you grant us as we evolve and move through this transition peacefully. Big thanks.’
Collette reactivated her Instagram account just six days ago when she shared a photo of herself drinking from a ‘Happy Birthday’ cup with the caption: ‘I’m back. Hello world. I love you.’
In Wednesday’s exclusive pictures, Galafassi was seen hugging and kissing 41-year-old Egan in the water and on the sand in front of other swimmers.
Hours before her divorce announcement, Collette posted a cryptic note to Instagram stating: ‘No matter what your current circumstances are, if you can imagine something better for yourself, you can create it.’
