Paris named best city in the world, with London sixth and NYC 10th

According to Euromonitor International’s Top 100 City Destinations ranking, Paris is ranked first.

The city of love was ceded number one last year, it has thus maintained its first position for all that worths it.

The city rankings are based on economics, business, tourism, infrastructure, policy, attractiveness, health, safety and sustainability.

‘The good standing of European destinations in the Index is largely attributable to two important pillars – tourism policy and attractiveness and tourism infrastructure,’ Euromonitor stated.

Meanwhile, Dubai which is ranked second in the rankings did take the lead ahead of Paris in international arrivals by city, with over 12 million trips in 2022.

Euromonitor International believe that International tourism has had a positive bounce back following many COVID-19 restrictions being lifted in 2022, with consumers apparently eager to jumping back on the plane and seeing what the other side of the world looks like.

Though there is a major boost in tourism, regions are still reportedly looking for ways to improve infrastructure and sustainability and meet tourist demands, Euromonitor International stated.

THE WORLD’S TOP 10 CITIES 2022 are ranked below according to the annual report, issued in partnership with data intelligence company Transparent Intelligence

10. New York

New York is the only America’s top-ranked city that made it into the top ten.

Meanwhile, Edinburgh ranked 54th here is Time Out’s world best city in 2022.

Euromonitor International’s Top 100 City Destinations ranking is produced from a comparison of 57 metrics across six ‘key pillars’ – economic and business performance; tourism performance; tourism infrastructure; tourism policy and attractiveness; health and safety; and sustainability.
