Zelensky craved the support of G7 leaders on Monday to back his idea of convening a special Global Peace Summit.
But Putin would not entertain sorts of ‘peace plan‘ from the Ukrainians, he has rather called for [Ukrainian] troops pullout and wanting Zelensky to really give up territories.
In Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman’s response to Zelensky in his plea to leaders from G7 Powers for more military equipment, financial support, energy stability and enforcing a peace solution (that would mean Russia withdrawing troops from Ukraine). Peskov said,
Russia’s annexation of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia has always been a subject of discussion with the Ukrainians discrediting that the annexation only happened because Ukrainians are put at gun point.
Also, United Nation has reasons to also fault the annexation as the UN claims the annexation is an ‘illegal’ move.
[East] Ukraine wants to hold peace talk, but the Russia thinks they are only trying to buy time to allow its depleted forces to regroup after nearly 10 months of war and a series of defeats and retreats.
