A ‘drug crazed’ man has died after smashing his way into a British woman’s apartment by diving headfirst through the window and trying to rape her.
The man, named by local authorities as Jacques Freitas, forced his way through a metal barrier to enter the luxury condo in Salvador, Brazil just before Christmas – allegedly while high on drugs.

The injured man tried to rape the British woman inside, but she fought him off.
The terrified woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, fought off her attacker.
She then managed to run out of her apartment and towards the condo’s outdoor swimming pool with him in pursuit, as seen in the final piece of footage.
But as Freitas chased her, he could be seen collapsing at the edge of the pool, apparently from loss of blood on December 22.
Local media reported that Freitas died at the scene.
Police are now investigating the case and have found cannabis, magic mushrooms, and other pills inside his flat.
The building manager, Rita Pires, told local media: ‘It was a night of terror. I’ve never seen anything like it.’
She said of Freitas: ‘Even injured, he still managed to run. His hand was broken, he was limp, shaking, and he managed to run after the girl into the pool area.’
And she said of the victim: ‘She’s been living here for a year, she’s in shock. Her house is full of blood, it looks like she’s killed an ox.
