Netflix docu-series Harry & Meghan has given fans a never-before-seen insight into the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s lives. Throughout, the pair delve into the beginnings of their romance as well as the circumstances which led to their Royal Family exit.
In one instance, Meghan speaks out on her lack of knowledge when it came to adhering to certain royal protocols.
“I never saw pictures or videos of a walkabout,” Meghan admitted in the documentary series.
“Like, what’s a walkabout?” she added referring to the public outing she and Harry had to undertake, their first coming in Nottingham.
Harry weighed in: “I could talk her through as much as I knew from my own experience of what I’d seen.
“The piece I really didn’t know about was the style, right, and what a woman needed to, how they needed to dress and all that.”
Their first walkabout in Nottingham didn’t exactly go without a hitch.
The pair explained that the zip on Meghan’s outfit actually broke while they were meeting the hoards of people.
As a result, the ensemble had to be safety-pinned together in a moment that Harry branded as “ridiculous”.
He continued: “Everybody was just so excited and pleased and happy.
“And I think people looked at it and went, ‘Wow, what a breath of fresh air.’”
Meghan chipped back in: ‘No, you’d be there with the scissors like, ‘Guys, be ready. We have five minutes.’
“Okay. And I was like, ‘Should I wear these earrings? Are these British designers? I just ordered these online. Is this good? Wait, my tag’s on. Cut the tag.’”
“And then the zip breaks,” Harry added before Meghan recalled how her other half tried to remedy the issue.
