Harry Reveals He Misses The UK And His Weird Family Gatherings

Prince Harry has revealed how he misses the UK and certain aspects of his life as a working member of the Royal Family.

Speaking in the final episode of his documentary with Meghan Markle, the Duke of Sussex told how he missed the “weird family gatherings” and how he has “lost friends” as a result of his move to the United States.

The final three episodes were released on Netflix this morning and have caused a lot of backlash as the public accuses Harry of “throwing his family under the bus”.

Asked what he misses about being a working royal, Harry responds: “I miss the weird family gatherings when we are all sort of brought together under one roof for certain times of the year.”

He then added that “being part of the institution meant I was in the UK. So I miss the UK, I miss my friends”, and he admitted he has “lost a few friends as well”.

The pair stepped down as working royals in March 2020 and moved to Montecito in California for “privacy”.

Harry also claimed that he moved to the US because he had “outgrown” the UK

Speaking while driving, he said: “I came here because I was changed. I changed to the point that I had outgrown my environment.

“Therefore this was the most obvious place to come. This is one of the places where I think my Mum was probably going to end up living, potentially.”

In the third episode of the Netflix series, released last week, Meghan recalled one of the family gatherings that took place at Christmas time, calling it “amazing”.

“I remember so vividly the first Christmas at Sandringham,” Meghan said. “Calling my mum, and she’s like, ‘How’s it going?’. And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s amazing’.”
