Grant Wahl’s body landed in the US, days after he died at World Cup

Grant Wahl, a soccer journalist who gave up the ghost on Friday after he collapsed while covering the Argentina and Netherland match in their World Cup game.

The body of the journalist has now arrived in US, his country. His death in Qatar was a shock to everyone.

His body and other belongings arrived at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport in early hours today, about 8:30 a.m., a State Department official confirmed.

Grant Wahl died at the age of 49.

Meanwhile, another soccer journalist identified as Khalid al-Misslam reportedly died on Saturday – a day after Grant Wahl’s death. No details have emerged further about his death.

Khalid al-Misslam is a photojournalist representing ‘Alkass’, a Qatari sports network.

So far, two journalists have died covering the World cup in Qatar, we are hopeful there won’t be a number three.
