Dating expert Louanne Ward shared the question to ask in a new relationship. She said if you want to find out if someone is serious, don’t ask them about this – ‘what are you looking for?’
Instead you should ask them: ‘If you were me, what would you do if you were looking for something serious?’ This is more likely to surprise someone and prompt an honest answer.
‘If you’re dating a guy and you’re not sure whether he’s serious about wanting a relationship or whether he’s messing around, don’t ask him what are you looking for?’ Louanne said in an Instagram video.
‘Of course, men can tell you exactly what you want to hear, so if you ask them flat out what are they looking for, they are generally gonna tell you what you want to hear.
‘If you want an honest answer, the dating expert said you should ask ‘if you were me, what would you do if you were looking for something serious?’
‘Depending on the answer that the guy gives you, you will have all the answers you need to know,’ Louanne said.
‘For instance, if he says ‘if you’re looking for something serious, I think we should explore the next level of our relationship because I’m also looking for something serious’, you will know he is on the same page as you.
Meanwhile, if she says ‘I think you should keep looking around because I am not looking for something serious’, you’ll know he just sees your relationship as fun.
