Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked war against Ukraine has caused economic ruins all over.

On 30-31 May 2022, the European Council agreed on a ban on almost 90% of all Russian oil imports by the end of 2022 – with a temporary exception for crude oil delivered by pipeline.

They urged the Council to finalise and adopt without delay the sixth package of sanctions which will include this ban.

Also, Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine is having a direct impact on global security and economy leading to global food crisis.

The invasion of Ukraine has had a significant impact on the mobility of people and goods in the EU across all modes of transport.

Among the main issues are fuel supplies and increasing fuel prices, as well as logistical challenges linked to border crossings and airspace restrictions.

In addition, imports of goods and the large influx of Ukrainian refugees towards EU countries has led to further operational challenges for the sector.

– Nearly 40% of the natural gas used by the European Union comes from Russia. President Biden said prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that the not-yet-operational Nord Stream 2 pipeline would not move ahead in the event of an invasion.

UK has depleted massively because of the measures NATO countries put in place against Russia.

The consequences of the war in Ukraine is becoming far-reaching day by day. It is already evident in a variety of areas.

The Russia-Ukraine situation has evolved into a humanitarian crisis, has turned food and energy security volatile and raises questions about the architecture of global security.

BIG solutions must be found as soon as possible to ensure these consequences won’t result into catastrophes upon catastrophes.
