It is no longer news that Davido is popular and we’ll loved by all and sundry in the country. The death of his son has hit everyone hard.
Celebrities and persons of different demographics across the world have continued to condole with the singer, who is planning to tie the knot with Chioma in 2023.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, has said only God can comfort popular Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and his girlfriend, Chioma.
In a tweet, she wrote: “Dear @davido and Chioma, Losing a child is the most painful experience in life. Only God can beam his comforting light at the pains you & your families are enduring at this difficult time.
“I can’t say I understand it all. But my thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.”
The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its activities for the week after David Adeleke, nephew of Governor-elect Ademola Adeleke, lost his son, Ifeanyi.
The Osun PDP caretaker chairman, Adekunle Akindele, in a condolence message to the Adeleke family on Tuesday said in his statement:
“We mourn the sorrowful exit of our son, Ifeanyi. We pray for the repose of his soul. It is a sad day, but we remain steadfast in our faith in the Lord of the Universe.
“Our condolence goes to Davido, our youth ambassador. We commiserate with our father figure, Dr Deji Adeleke and the entire Adeleke family. We pray the good Lord grant the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement concluded.
The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, has announced the cancellation of all official engagements scheduled for Tuesday following the unfortunate death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi.
Reacting, Kalu in a post on his official Facebook page wrote:
“Dear David/Chioma, I am sober, I am deeply saddened by the loss of your son, Ifeanyi. I have canceled my official engagements today to mourn him quietly.
“Ifeanyi will be missed by everyone. May the Creator accept our prayers on his behalf”.
People in entertainment industry has poured out their shock as well.
Actor Williams Uchemba, in the early hours of the day, called for prayers for Davido and Chioma.
He wrote, “Please say a prayer for David, Chioma, and the entire family. Nobody deserves this kind of pain. Rest up, little one.”
Actor Muyiwa Ademola, via his Instagram page, said, “It is one of the saddest things when kids are being buried by parents.
We really wish it never happened! May The Almighty give the parents and the entire Adeleke family the strength to bear this loss? Rest In Peace Champ.”
