Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergey Shoigu inspected the command post of the Integrated Group of Forces in the zone of the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.
“Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Army General Sergey Shoigu inspected the command post of the Integrated Group of Russian Troops (Forces) accomplishing the assignments of the special military operation in Ukraine,” the ministry said in a statement.
The defense chief heard a report by Commander of the Integrated Group of Forces Army General Sergey Surovikin on the current operational situation, the nature of enemy activities, and the fulfillment of combat missions by Russian troops in various operational areas, the ministry specified.
Army General Surovikin separately reported on providing the servicemen who had been called up during the partial mobilization and who had joined the Integrated Group of Forces with all types of allowance and supplies, it said.
The Russian defense chief also decorated Russian servicemen with government awards, the ministry said.
“In conclusion of his visit to the command post of the Integrated Group of Russian Troops, Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Army General Sergey Shoigu, in fulfillment of the decree by the president of Russia, decorated Russian servicemen with the Gold Star medal of the Hero of Russia, the Order of Courage and other state awards for their courage and heroism,” the statement reads.
